Petrovietnam’s 50th Anniversary was far more than a corporate celebration. It was the story of a national economic group deeply connected with Vietnam’s history, energy security and national aspiration.
RI Events was challenged to create a ceremony with the stature of a national narrative: epic but not distant, ceremonial but not conventional, emotional yet refined for one of the country’s most important corporate milestones.
The event also carried a strategic mission: to reshape the perception of Petrovietnam as a state-owned group with a new mindset, new stature and new role in the next phase of development.
The challenge became even greater when RI Events chose a bold creative format: a fully live modern musical performance, with no MC, broadcast live on national television, and attended by senior leaders, ministries, partners and generations of Petrovietnam leaders.
The venue was not ideal for a production of this complexity: a multi-level stage, live orchestra, large scenic props, layered settings and continuous transitions. Even the smallest mistiming between stage, performers, orchestra, sound, lighting, visuals, mechanics and broadcast cameras could affect the entire show — with no room for correction on national live television.
RI Events did not approach the ceremony as a conventional anniversary event, but as an epic story told through contemporary stage language.
From the historical inspiration connected with President Ho Chi Minh, to the journey of building and operating the nation’s energy flow, the program was designed as a continuous narrative about the people of Petrovietnam — those who carried belief, overcame hardship and contributed to Vietnam’s prosperity.
There was no MC. The entire story was carried by music, spoken narrative, dance, visuals, lighting and stage rhythm. Each chapter became a link in the 50-year journey: from aspiration, exploration and resilience, to growth and the new stature of Petrovietnam.
It was a bold choice — but also the right one. A great story needed a form powerful enough to make people feel it, not just understand it.
Business Thinking. Creative Solution. Flawless Execution.
Reason Becomes Art.
The entire show was built as a highly precise live performance system.
The symphony orchestra performed 100% live. Storytellers delivered their lines directly on the music. Dancers and performers moved to every cue and beat. Sound, lighting, 3D visual effects, stage movement and broadcast cameras were synchronized through timecode.
The multi-level stage integrated complex scenic and mechanical systems, allowing it to transform, lift, split and reconnect throughout the show. Large-scale props and scenic elements were created to recreate the spaces, timelines and historical layers of Petrovietnam’s 50-year journey.
With no MC, there was no safe buffer. Every transition, line, musical cue, movement, lighting change, visual sequence, stage mechanism and camera moment had to work as one continuous structure.
Within a demanding production timeline, RI Events developed the content, script, music direction, staging, set design, props, costumes, 3D visuals, technical system and live broadcast operation in parallel.
This was a high-risk creative decision that required directorial vision, system control and operational discipline at an exceptional level.
The ceremony went beyond the format of a traditional anniversary and became a modern musical tribute to Petrovietnam’s 50-year journey.
The story of Vietnam’s oil and gas industry was told in a way that felt heroic, emotional, contemporary and deeply personal to the people who had lived, witnessed and built that journey.
The sense of pride filled the hall — reflected in the eyes of generations of leaders, historical witnesses, partners, guests and Petrovietnam people themselves.
The program received direct recognition from senior national leaders and opened a new benchmark for how a national corporation can tell its story: not only through achievements, but through emotion, courage and stature.
For RI Events, this project reflects a core belief: when strategic thinking runs deep enough, creativity can become art; and when art is executed with discipline, an event can become a lasting memory.
